My Bio & Portfolio
Born, Sean Linell Patton (later changed to Sean Linell Ivy) in Shreveport, Louisiana (Cedar Grove). Being militarily raised and becoming a Navy/Marine Combat Corpsman (Combat Medic) and now an Honorably discharged Veteran, all, has made me well rounded. I've traveled this unique and blessed world seeing wonderful, extraordinary, remarkable and even peculiar things which can be seen in my works expressed in a deeply spiritual fashion. Being with, living amongst and being raised around multiple and diverse cultures helped mold my artistic vision with hopes to use the beautiful hues of who we are upon a canvas, wall, or whatever surface worthy of true art! Know that we are like a divine, pleasantly colorful and dreamy rainbow, stretching into the skies of life, unto the right hand of God's promise.
BEHIND THE NAME, "OLUGBODI" ('Olu' means: lord, chief. 'Gbodi' means: established, grounded... in the LORD):
Within ancient Alkebulan or African traditions (and recognized in other remote locations) the Nigerian term "Oruko Amutorunwa," which means "predestined or heaven sent" name (Yoruba name) is a high and divine honor. The oruko amutorunwa birth name, "Olugbodi" (there are 1 in 144 born with this unique trait within the Afro-Asiatic/Afro-American population), is a title stamped upon my spiritual destiny of humanitarian prosperity, abundance (owo aje), creativity, luck, unique peculiarity, blessings, vision and the gift of anything touched, turns into "diamonds and gold!" (all stated without conceit but with nobility, duty and honor).
Also known as Oboni or Onoja in the Igala tribe, within the Ancient Igbo tribe, the tribe of my ancestral royal family (by blood), one destined of this path is also titled "Ọhụụ" (new): visionary/ọhụ̀ ; seer (navi); servant of CHUKWU/GOD [for humankind]). I believe being given the maternal birth name Sean (Irish derivative) which translates to Yohanan in Hebrew and Amarachukwu in Igbo all meaning "God's grace" or "the grace of GOD/YHWH/CHUKWU" along with an elder identified surname of Yoruba origin, has all been a blessed sign which I would be ignorant to discredit, doubt or dismiss.
With that said, being given the predestined gift that I must mandatorily use and not waste nor set aside, from an Omnipotent Source that is greater than I and us all... the gifts that we all are blessed with must be divinely expressed for His benevolent purpose and mysterious works... we must be glad that He blessed us with something we love, even though we may battle with using our gifts from time to time with hopes to prevail in the end. Let's work as one, cohesively using and expressing to the world what we are blessed with by contributing such talents unto a world in need, even presenting what is produced from the hobbies we love all raises the vibration of humanity, ascending from the old, into the new!
Discover thyself to truly know thyself and know this, that faith and works are twins that should not work separate, but rather together as purposed, prevailing in consistency and perpetuality while avoiding the pernicious path. Travel upon the narrow path. - Discern.
"Step forward in faith from the support of the firm and stable thigh, unto the left guiding thigh aligned with the heart, the temple of God's love and mercy... walking in truth all the way long!" Amen.
-Amarachukwu Olúgbodi,
